Chalo Jamva

Saturday 11th May - 7PM

When Punam first started hosting supper clubs back in 2018, this was the original concept before they were even called "khao". A supper club all about sharing humble Gujarati food. We are so excited to be bringing the first Chalo Jamva supper club with them to Spitalfields.

Inspired by humble Gujarati food and great British produce, they will share four courses that take inspiration from their rasodu or kitchen to the dining table. Expect something familiar but with a refreshing take. Through this supper club, Khao continues to share traditional Gujarati dishes with a fresh outlook. Each course tells a story of their journey back home to Gujarat and Mumbai, and the connection to the dishes back at home in London. So come along to eat with us or 'Chalo Jamva'!

TO START

Hot & Steamy

Savoury gram flour cakes, Dhokla, made with a fermented lentil mix that is steamed and finished with a curry leaf and sesame seed temper. Served with two chutneys and a sprouted mung bean salad.

SECOND COURSE

Ankhu Paku

Ankhu shaak or whole vegetable curry stuffed with a gram flour spice mix and cooked in a tomato gravy. Lightly sautéed cabbage sambharo in mustard seeds. Served with wholewheat rotli (chapati) and a radish & cucumber salad seasoned with dill & chives.

THIRD COURSE

Gujarati Daar Bhaat

It's been a while since we last shared our meticulously cooked yellow lentil daar. I've been perfecting my recipe for over 10 years to bring you a taste of home. Served with rice or bhaat and papad.

DESSERT

Hanging with Keri

We're bringing our two obsessions together: Srikhand & Indian Mangoes! Expect a delicately saffron infused hung curd, served with slices of seasonal Mangoes. Accompanied with a Pistachio crisp.

We’re always up for collaborating with interesting brands and businesses. If you’re interested in hosting an event with us please get in touch via the bookings tab above.
